VERSES

A mythopoetic universe born from sisterhood, real love, lineage, chosen family, and approximately thirty years of world-building.

Across six elemental universes—Fire, Water, Earth, Air, Light, and Shadow—ancient powers guard the balance that holds creation together. But when forgotten forces stir and old wounds rise again, six young rulers must face the truth of their inheritance, their loyalty, and the cost of becoming who they were born to be.

Verses is an ongoing mythopoetic project that parallels my artistic practice—an interdisciplinary world built through writing, painting, sculpture, narrative design, and visual storytelling.

Verses grows from the same place my artwork does—from the knowing that everything is alive, intertwined, and speaking. This universe is a tapestry of animistic worlds, ancestral echoes, and emotional thresholds, where every character’s journey mirrors the breaking and becoming that shape our own lives. It is another form of return: a mythic mirror for the ways we walk through darkness, carry memory, seek belonging, and rebuild ourselves from the pieces we once thought were shattered. As in my art, Verses is a place where the sacredness of being is not an idea but a living presence—something that binds us, heals us, and reminds us who we are.

The creation of Verses is deeply collaborative.

My sister Michelle and I began building this universe together nearly thirty years ago, long before we shared a last name. As teenagers, we spent countless afternoons inventing cultures, painting characters, and expanding the elemental realms. In the process, imagination became lineage—woven so tightly that her family eventually became my own. Verses grew as we grew, a shared world born of chosen family, devotion, and the fierce bond of sisterhood. We now continue this work together with the intention of bringing this long-loved universe into the wider world.

Empress Psierra — Sovereign of the Verse of Sacred Fire

Psierra stands as flame shaped into flesh—regal, enigmatic, and radiant with a power that feels as ancient as the first dawn. A seer born to ceremony and silence, she moves with the certainty of one who walks between visions and the mortal world. Her presence is both heat and stillness, a living ember carried with reverence by all who behold her. She speaks rarely, yet her words fall like sparks that change the course of fate. In her gaze burns the mystery of fire’s wisdom: consuming, illuminating, and forever reaching toward the horizon of things yet unseen.

Sirakos — Guardian of the Verse of Living Waters

Sirakos is the luminous quiet of the abyss—a being shaped by ancient depths, endless curiosity, and the soft radiance of living light. His presence is serene yet unsettling, like moonlight sinking through black water. A General and philosopher born of the deep, he moves with the fluid precision of a tide and speaks with a voice that stirs truth from silence. In him, the ocean remembers its mysteries: bioluminescent, fathomless, and forever seeking the hidden patterns beneath creation’s surface.

Emperor Enrique — Sovereign of the Verse of Living Waters

Enrique stands as the calm within the shifting tides—an emperor shaped by depth, devotion, and the quiet power of listening. His presence softens grief and deepens joy, carrying the serene certainty of rivers that know their path. Gentle yet unbreakable, he leads through empathy, ritual, and the steady wisdom of the sea. In his gaze lives the memory of ancient waters; in his voice, the promise of safe harbor.

Makena — Guardian of the Verse of Living Waters

Makena stands as the quiet strength beneath the current—a guardian shaped by devotion, ancestral memory, and the sacred pulse of creation. She moves with the certainty of rivers carving stone, her presence a sanctuary of wisdom, clarity, and unshakable grace. As General, warrior, and priestess, she carries the deep songs of her people in her voice and the calm of ritual in her hands. In her, the waters remember their beginning: nurturing, sovereign, and powerful enough to reshape the world in silence.
